Otherwise, i'd have purchased from Amazon.com. i'm penning this review, to hopefully facilitate those others longing for a TV during this value vary. I was skeptical initially getting a Samsung TV, having owned solely Sony and Hitachi TV's, that are pretty smart. I did alot of analysis before puchasing this unit, talked to friends who had Samsung TV's themselves, checked out all the ratings and reviews on Infobahn, visited the shop and checked out the 7000 series (because they did not have a 8000 in stock) - and was Blown Away! WOW! the 7000 had the simplest image that I had ever seen in a very tv Set amount, and that i am a really picky person - all reviews said that the 8000 ought to be even higher. I went ahead and purchased it. i'm terribly glad that I did! After setting everything up and calibrating the settings - vital - (went near the Calibration settings that [...] has). I loaded Avatar into the Blu-Ray Player @ 1080p/24 and it absolutely was superb to mention the smallest amount. i do not believe there will be a more robust image.
